Intimate Wedding | Black & White

There are always a few images that just feel like they belong in black and white. I love black and white wedding photography because it has a way of stripping away every distraction so the emotion becomes the focus. It's one of my favorite ways to preserve the heart of a wedding day.

A few years ago, I had the honor and privilege of photographing my sister's intimate wedding. As I was editing her gallery, I kept coming back to the black and white versions of so many photos. Without the color, you notice the small expressions, quiet glances, and emotions that might have been easy to miss otherwise.

I still love colorful wedding photos, and I don't think every image should be black and white. But I do think every wedding gallery deserves a few. They have a way of feeling both simple and emotional, timeless and elegant, all at the same time.
